A Cyber-Secured Operation for Water-Energy Nexus

The wide implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) cause power system operations exposed to cyber-attacks. Meanwhile, the tendency integrated multi energy vectors has worsened this issue with multiple coupled. This paper proposes a two-stage risk-averse mitigation strategy for water-energy systems (WESs), incorporating power, natural gas water against false data injection attacks (FDIA) under nexus. FDIA on individual sub-systems is modelled through hampering integrity systems. An innovative distributionally robust optimization (RA-DRO) proposed mitigate uneconomic operation provides coordinated optimal load shedding scheme nexus security. A coherent risk measure, Conditional Value-at-Risk incorporated into RA-DRO model risk. Benders decomposition method used solve original NP-hard problem. Case studies are demonstrated WES results show that effectiveness risks from potential renewable uncertainties. research operators an economic tool by optimally coordinating infrastructures implementing reasonable enhance cybersecurity.
